Yes falks, it’s true. WinBeta reveals Microsoft codename ‘Longhorn’ beta 1 to be released tomorrow!
I’m eagerly waiting to see what MS will do with Vista. Vista, in my humble opinion, will be the OS that will make or break Microsoft.
We’re at a crucial technological, social and economical time. OSX is moving to Intel platform. Linux is ready than ever to be a real contender and Microsoft is trying to cut back on pirated copies.
All of the above means that in order for MS to remain the OS leader, Vista has to be REALLY impressive.
Otherwise, their toast…

I don’t think Microsoft will remain the rock-solid leader for very much longer, regardless of Vista’s success or failure. The competition is just now becoming more appealing, and people are now realizing that their computers have looked, acted, and crashed the same since Win95.
My next new computer will be a Mac, and unless Vista is really something (the Longhorn beta’s I’ve used aren’t), I doubt I’ll be paying for it. Hell, I doubt I’ll even take the time to pirate it.
