How to convert a physical computer to a virtual machine
February 5th, 2006
I’ve found a really cool guide that explains how to convert a physical computer to a virtual machine.
The technical explanation is not really the cool part. It might be the best solution, or not, as there are certainly different ways to achieve that.
What I really like is the actual concept itself rather than the detail.
Have an old computer? Moving to a new one? Don’t want to hassle with the whole deal of backing up and restoring data? Worried you’d forget something?
Create a working virtual PC replica of a computer, and run it on a different, or a new one…
Anyhow – Cool stuff!

Thanks for the link! And glad you liked the tutorial. I’m still new to virtualization myself (the laptop conversion was really my first major venture into it) but it’s making life a lot easier!
