Ethereal changes name to Wireshark

Ethereal is a must-have piece of software for anyone working with anything even remotely related to networking.
Ethereal is a network “sniffer” that records and analyzes everything that goes through your network interface and displays this information intelligently and visually-friendly according to the network layers and protocols used.
I think it’s the de-facto standard for sniffing, both on Windows and on Linux.
Anyhow, Gerald Combs, founder of the Ethereal project caused a flurry of excitement among users and developers Wednesday when he announced on the Ethereal developers mailing list that he was changing jobs, moving to a new location, and taking the project and its core developers with him as he leaves.

While Ethereal is indeed a friendly a quite suitable sniffer for most uses,
I must point out that ther is other far more proffetional sniffer’s (sniffer pro, etherpeek and more)
