Thirty

Today I am 30. Thirty!
Thirty is an age in which, by any account or opinion, you are truly an adult. At least chronologically-wise.
And if you haven’t made some grave mistakes along the way, you are also an adult intellectually and emotionally.
So I’m thirty. Wow.
I haven’t made my million yet.
Haven’t invented the great invention. Haven’t launched that awesome start-up company. I’m not even remotely famous.
I actually haven’t done anything an average boy dreams he’d do by the time their 30. Thirty!
But, I’m not really disappointed.
One of the nice things about this age is that while you’re still at your prime, you’ve already experienced and learned enough to know better.
I’m 30.
I have a diploma. A great job. I’m married. We have two beautiful sons. We all have our health.
Now that’s right there, my friends, is all the good fortune anyone can ask for.
“If at age 20 you are not a Communist then you have no heart. If at age 30 you are not a Capitalist then you have no brains.”
(George Bernard Shaw)
