Highlander – One of my favorite movies – To get a remake

Like everyone around my age, 30 something, there are a few classic 80’s movies that will always be remembered.
Highlander is definitely one of my favorite movies of all times. I’m talking about the original movie that came out back in 1986, starring Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, born in the year 1518 and discovered he’s an immortal living until this day. Another great actor who made an impression in that movie is Sean Connery, playing the flamboyant immortal mentor Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Rami’rez.
And by the way, it also features one of my favorite songs – “Who Wants to Live Forever” by Queen.
It was a big happy surprise to find out that it was revealed today that Highlander will be remade.
Summit Entertainment is producing the movie with Iron Man (Which apparently is a damn good movie) writing team Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Peter Davis, who produced the original film is producing here as well.
Production is to being next year on the remake, which Summit hopes will kickstart a future franchise.
